Virtual Inspection User Guide
Follow this helpful guide to document all damage relating to your moving claim. This guide gives you the best practices to help you provide thorough and accurate documentation for your claim.
Taking Photos
Initial Overview
Step 1: Provide detailed photos of the item showing the full condition. The photo should capture the entire item.
Step 2: Take close-up photos from different sides (front, back, left, right, top, and bottom) to show the damage clearly.
Step 3: Capture photos of any identifying marks or labels on the item. The manufacturer, model number, and serial number are incredibly helpful to include.
Step 4: Provide a photo of the damaged box in which the item was shipped, if applicable.
Note: If a photo turns out blurry, please delete it and try again. You can submit up to 10 photos of each damaged item.
Tips for Close-Up Shots
Take close-up photos of each area of damage. Ensure that these are clear and well-lit.
Use a standard business card or ruler to provide a scale of reference in the photo.
Capture different angles of each area of damage to highlight depth and severity.

Descriptions and Details
Please provide, if available, the make, model, and age/year of production of the object.
If the object has been damaged to the point it is in pieces, please provide, if available, a photo of the intact, whole object..
Please provide any available documentation of the value or price you paid for the item.
Include any additional information you would like to share about the item/damage in your notes.
Instructions for using the Driftless Claims & Restoration Damage Report
The technician assigned to your claim should have provided a link to the damage report along with the link to this user guide. Click on the damage report link to begin the process.
After providing your name, phone number, and email address in the damage report, it will walk you through three steps for each item on your claim.
Inventory number and name of the item (your technician may have already filled this out for you using your original claim. If so, please confirm it is correct).
Description of item (your technician may have transferred from your original claim. If so, confirm it is correct and add any additional information you feel may help, such as make model, age, etc.).
Photos (Up to 10 photos per item. Include an image of the entire item, close-ups of any identifying marks/labels, close-ups of each area of damage, and any damaged shipping boxes)
Once you have completed steps one through three for each item on your claim, hit the SUBMIT button in the lower, left hand corner of the form. This will send your damage report to be processed. Once you have completed your report, your claims representative will be in touch regarding next steps.
